There are no indications to believe there will be a change in the cooperation and support between this two allies, despite the international outrage at the Assad regime gassing its own people.
The pattern that these two countries hold until now will remain the same. Atrocity provokes condemnation and outrage trough out the world, but is met with unconvincing denials by Syria and its Russian sponsors.
Every international effort to investigate and punish the regime in Syria are stymied by Russia and China in the UN Security Council.
Russia shows no sign of stopping its support as being accomplice to the murderous Assad regime. If that sounds conspiratorial and biased, consider the facts.
Russia constantly lies about its role in Syria. Main weapon of the two allies is using misinformation as a tactic there and elsewhere in the world.

Other example of the near past is how Russia lied after the shooting down of passenger flight MH17 in skies over Ukraine. Its misinformation even contradicted itself. As a matter of fact, It produced false information, some of it plagiarized and some even self-contradictory, to claim a Ukrainian plane had shot down the Malaysian airlines jet.
The evidence was so convincing that even an amateur citizen journalists needed just a little time to prove that the satellite imagery Russia supplied had been deliberately and crudely altered and misdated.
But Russia knows that if it throws enough false leads and evidence into the debate, enough chaff to distract observers, it undermines the truth by generating enough doubt.
The same tactics have been used by him very practically in Syria. There is more than convincing evidence that his air force has deliberately targeted hospitals, medical centers and aid convoys more than few times.
His scheme that Russian forces are there only to destroy ISIS have provided a smokescreen hiding his primary motive, the tactical advantage to keep Bashar al Assad in power.
Now that Assad has dared to gas hundreds of his own citizens, Russia’s misinformation machine is here again to give support and hide the truth.
This time they try to tell to the world that the attack has all the hallmarks of rebel activity. This despite eye witnesses stating the lethal gas was dropped by a plane and the rebels have no air force.
Give enough misinformation’s and you will sow doubt in the minds of observers. Especially if the false info is spread by a cyber-army at your disposal of thousands, bot farms and trolls and the foolish on social media disseminating the propaganda because they know no better.
We have seen horror after horror during the Syrian civil war, and so far we can conclude that the attack in Khan Sheikhoun is among the worst. The death toll, likely use of sarin and ensuing airstrikes on the medical facilities treating its victims were the distinct atrocities.
But with no sign of Russia finally taking a more responsible role in the UN, the destruction and lose of innocent lives is sure to continue.
