The pop star Selena Gomez took to Insta to show her followers the she and the Cast of the brand new Netflix series 13 Reasons Why Alisha Boe and Tommy got a matching tattoos on their forearms. The tattoo is in form of black semicolon that symbolized mental health awareness and suicide prevention, which is part of the heavy subjects that the series has covered.
As they took their first episode story about Hannah Baker’s (Katherine Langford) suicide, the high school student, who was cyber bullied by her boyfriend’s friend Bryce (Justin Prentice) . Baker leaves 13 tapes for her classmates telling and explaining her decision for committing suicide.
13 Reasons Why debuted 31 March and the singer opened up about what this project means to her: “I think the message, how I felt when I first read the book, I felt like Hannah, and now, seven years later, I still felt like Hannah even more than I ever did. So I think the message and people, no matter what age you are, can relate to the story,”
“Everybody has gone through this, and more than ever it should be talked about today.”
Gomez can relay on the subject as she, herself, was treated for her Lupus diagnosis and depression battle, and since, she has opened up about about “difficult time” she endured prior her rehab.
